Privacy policy

Build Pro HQ (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information when you sign up for the beta, use the Build Pro HQ mobile app, or use this website. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What we collect

We only collect the information we need. That includes:

• Beta signup details: the name, email address and phone type (iPhone or Android) you enter on this page, which we use to send you the beta invite for the right platform.
• Account details (in the app): your name, email address and initials, used to sign you in and to show who owns each item.
• Job and project data (in the app): the action items, notes, project names, levels, trades, due dates and completion status that you and your team enter.
• Photos (in the app): images you attach to action items or upload as a program.
• Basic technical data: standard information your device or browser sends, such as app version, IP address and error logs, used to keep things working and to fix problems.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, or any sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act, unless you choose to put it into a note or a photo yourself.

2. How we use it

We use your information to:

• Send you the beta invite and updates about the launch.
• Create and manage your account and sign you in.
• Store and display your projects, action items, notes, program and daily list.
• Respond to your support requests.
• Keep the app secure, diagnose faults and improve how it works.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it. There is no third-party ad tracking on this page or in the app.

3. Where your data is stored

Beta signup details submitted through this page are stored on our website hosting and emailed to our team. App account and job data are stored using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage), which runs on Google Cloud infrastructure. Depending on the region in use, some data may be stored or processed on servers located outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is necessary to run the service:

• Your team (in the app): items, notes and photos you create are visible to other members of the same project, including managers, as that is the point of the app.
• Our hosting and infrastructure providers, being our website host and Google Firebase.
• Where required by law, for example in response to a valid legal request.

We do not disclose your personal information to any other third party for their own purposes.

5. Security

Data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. Access to the app requires an email and password, and access to job data is restricted to members of the relevant project through server-side security rules. No system is ever completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your personal information for as long as we need it to run the beta and the service. If you ask us to remove you from the beta list or delete your data, we will delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period, unless we are required to keep it by law. Email service@buildprohq.com.au to ask.

7. Accessing and correcting your information

You can view and edit most of your information directly in the app. You may also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing service@buildprohq.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Children

Build Pro HQ is a tool for working professionals and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page.

10. Complaints and contact

If you have a question or a complaint about how we handle your personal information, email us at service@buildprohq.com.au and we will work with you to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
